They arrived in Montreal on May 26 where they stayed in Room 1738 and 1742 at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel. During their seven day stay, they invited Timothy Leary, Tommy Smothers, Dick Gregory, and many other celebrities to join them. Give Peace a Chance was recorded in their hotel room on June 1. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation also conducted interviews from the hotel room - link below.

Photographs licensed from the estate of Jerry Dieter, the official photographer covering the event for Life Magazine are included in the movie Let Him Be.

Due to the technology available today it has never been easier to be a film maker. Having said that, it should never be your starting point. I believe you have to start with a great script, people who believe in you and it, a great cast, DOP and editor in that order. Some other things to keep in mind. You can only learn from your mistakes. There are no rules. Nobody knows anything. Never put your destiny in the hands of anyone else. Believe and be true too yourself. Never take no for an answer and never give up. Remember some of the greatest movies ever made were turned down by many well known companies and individuals who were all experienced, respected industry leaders.

My sense is that if Lennon were alive today we would have a public that would be more attentive, engaged and actively involved in demanding accountability for any number of issues facing the world today.

From the consequences of the abuse, manipulation and collapse of the world wide banking and credit system, to needless, orchestrated wars, the list goes on and on. In almost every case the perpetrators get to walk away scott free.

While there were a few political activist folk musicians before him, Lennon was the first to give the rock generation a conscience and voice.

His method and message was always directed at and geared towards motivating the individual. Peace is available if YOU want it, war is over if YOU want it, all YOU need is love etc

Its sad that after all the joy John Lennon gave the world, his life would end with such a tragic, senseless, brutal murder that became one of the greatest tragedies of a generation.

The making of this movie was only made possible by finances and support from friends, family and Telefilm Canada. We were also blessed with an amazing, dedicated cast and crew and post production companies. Their creative and collaborative generosity took the project further than we could ever have imagined.

We are looking forward to a successful Canadian Theatrical release that we can build upon to enable us to eventually finance other screenings throughout the world. Our goal is to at least get to screen it in London, Paris, New York & Los Angeles.

To the toppermost of the poppernost
